Voting in Kindergarten!

Today kindergarten students at Memorial had a chance to vote! The whole school was working toward filling up a stripe on the large American flag in the cafeteria with their STARbucks. When grade levels filled their stripe, they were able to decorate their lockers. Since we do not have lockers in kindergarten, Mr. Rosenblatt gave us a choice: decorate cubbies or decorate the hall with a mural. Kindergarten teachers decided that we would have a vote to decide which one to choose.

Students filled out a ballot, put their ballots in a box, and teachers were able to count the votes and announce a winner! Kindergarten students will be decorating papers to hang up on the insides of their cubbies on Wednesday. We will provide materials, but if students want to bring in anything extra, they may do so on Wednesday.

Kindergarten 177 also filled up Mr. Potato Head with compliments, so we have a whole class reward. We voted (again!) to watch a movie. We will watch a short movie during snack on Wednesday.

I hope you all have a nice day off tomorrow!
